What is a Pelican Tank?
A Pelican Tank is a unique product designed and manufactured by Alternative Concepts (Australia) Pty Limited. It is a bladder tank with multiple uses, designed for versatility, affordability and ease of transport. They can be folded into a small package, sent through the post, or dropped from aircraft into remote locations.

What sizes to Pelican Tanks come in?
Currently we are manufacturing 4 sizes: 325 litre, 650 litre, 1000 litre and 1500 litre. But we can also custom make tanks to different sizes and shapes for bulk orders. There is currently a time delay on orders for larger sized tanks.

What kind of inlets and outlets do Pelican Tanks have?
Pelican Tanks have a versatile 100mm sleeve inlet and a 3/4in tap which is compatible with most Australian Garden hoses. The tanks can also easily be retro-fitted by the user with alternative off-the-shelf PVC tank fittings and taps.

Are Pelican Tanks available in stores? Where can I get one?
Pelican Tanks are not yet available in stores. But hopefully they will be soon. You can help us by asking for Pelican Tanks at your local hardware store, or showing them this website. In the meantime you can purchase your tank right here from this site (currently we only have Mk1s and Mk2s in stock).  Also, look for us on eBay.

I have seen bladder tanks before. How are Pelican Tanks different?
The difference is in the design, the material, and the cost. Other bladder tanks are expensive because they use a very heavy PVC material. Pelican Tanks use a strong, lightweight material that is just as durable and yet is much cheaper.

What are Pelican Tanks made of?
We use a very strong woven nylon for the outer layer, with a polyurethane inner lining. These materials combine to make a strong and durable tank.

What if I puncture or damage my Pelican Tank?
Common sense should be employed in the care and maintenance of the tanks. Children with scissors, for example, should be kept well away! But in the unlikely event of damage, Pelican Tanks also come with a repair kit.

Are Pelican Tanks UV Resistant?
The nylon used in Pelican Tanks has good resistance to ultra-violet radiation.

Will rodents eat my Pelican Tank?
So far our field tests have shown that rodents show no interest in eating the nylon material.

Can I get Pelican Tanks in Different Colours?
Yes, Pelican Tanks can be made in a range of colours. However high-volume bulk purchases may be necessary to obtain the exact colour of you want.

Where are Pelican Tanks made?
They are manufactured by Alternative Concepts in China for international distribution.

If I want to become a distributor, what do I have to do?
Enquiries from distributors are very welcome. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a distributor and we will send you all the product and pricing information you need. If you are outside of Australia, an investment of approximately US$30,000 (a minimum order) will be required to qualify you as a distributor of Pelican Tanks in your region.

Do Pelican Tanks come with a warranty?
Yes. The factory offers a 12 month replacement warranty against faults in manufacturing. In reality, any manufacturing faults should be evident soon after installation.

How does the warranty work?
To make a warranty claim it is necessary to post the tank back to Alternative Concepts (Australia) Pty Ltd, PO Box 700, Belgrave. Victoria, 3160. Australia. Once a legitimate claim has been established, a new tank will be sent back to you.
